An immersive and touching story about human experience, inspired by real-life accounts of child soldiers, war correspondents and families torn apart through armed conflict

Amy pores over the memories of her late father, a war photographer, journeying into his past work in conflict zones across the globe.

Examining the stories behind the lens, three performers conjure up dazzling images with cardboard, sand and shadow.

Grit was created in 2012 as a piece of visual puppet theatre that looked at the impassioned and controversial relationship between children and war. A reality of conflict that has been both heavily documented and buried under the carpet, Grit explored the experience of lost children, lost childhood and the crushing effects of being raised in the midst of war.

An intimate tale inspired by real-life accounts of child soldiers, war correspondents and families torn apart through armed conflict. Grit uses a range of theatrical styles (from tabletop rod puppetry to projection) to create an immersive and touching story about human experience.
